With an original score especially composed by Marisa Cornford and performed on keyboard and viola by The Cornford Duo, Alfred Hitchcock's 1927 silent movie, based loosely on the story of Jack the Ripper, is a fast-paced thriller laced with the suspense and psychological uncertainty which were later to become his directorial trademarks. Composer/performer and matinee idol Ivor Novello gives a chilling, yet charming performance in the lead role.
